Go ahead, single me out. You need someone to be angry at and it might as well be me.

First of all, as Q said, you ARE "one of us," simply because you're posting here.

Second of all, you have no idea what you're talking about when you talk about the "unmitigated joy" you imagine everyone here has found.

Look around you, man! Read some of the other threads. The joy this holiday season has been nothing if not MITIGATED.

People here are dealing with disease, depression and unemployment and death.

People start threads about un-joyous topics all the time--and they get support. I seem to remember there have even been "Anyone Else Alone on New Year's?" threads in the past. Just don't threadjack someone's happy thread and make it about your unhappiness--that's where you become a whiner.

Ask papalovesmambo what happens to whiners.
