"Happy Slapping" - Anyone heard of this?

The newest craze in England with teens is to walk up to someone and slap or punch them in the face while another teen captures it on a video phone and then they post them on the internet.

They do this in groups so the innocent victim has no choice but to just sit there or risk serious injury.
If anyone ever tries this on me, they better have a hell of a group with them, cuz I'd move heaven and earth to beat the crap out of them!

it isn't just slapping!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was a documentary on this not long ago and they actually set fire to a bloke and kicked him... he's scarred for life!

The slapping thing reminds me of the Veggietales movie, where all the people in the village of Ninevah slap each other with fish, and think they're doing no wrong. Given they're produce, however, I don't think it quite pertains to the subject.

Didn't they also throw pots, though? Those seem like they would be painful, produce or otherwise - or am I wrong about the pots?

I know DGRANT. I made the mistake of searching online when I first heard about this and actually got to a site where some of the "happy slapping" videos were posted.
Seeing a couple of them made me sick at first, and then I got so angry I had to shut the computer down and go walk the dog.
