I was absolutely outside the norm on the last one, since I hated it. Completely.
But I'll see these, and see it through to the end.

Posted: 12/5/09 at 9:03pmA shame they couldn't get Cuaron back to direct. His PRISONER OF AZKABAN is still by very very very far the best of the series. And I don't really see the point of stretching it out into two parts over so many months. LORD OF THE RINGS this ain't.

Posted: 12/5/09 at 9:17pmI think they are doing 2 parts to cover everything they cut out of the other movies that came back up in the last book

The only reason they are doing two parts is WB wants to make as much money off of their final HP movie as possible. Two parts = two movie tickets = twice the revenue.
it is purely a financial reason and has no artistic merit or reasoning to it at all. Lord of the rings: return of the king was over three hours; why can't Deathly Hallows be? because the big wigs want to stuff their pockets and go out with not only one, but two big bangs.
yes, I am a little unhappy about this decision still, even though I heard about it a while ago. It still gets under my skin.

"I don't really see the point of stretching it out into two parts"
You're kidding, right?
2+ billion as opposed to 1+ billion . . .
That's a real head-scratcher, huh?

"Story-wise it has to be two movies, in order to fit everything in."
That could have applied to the last 2 flicks at least, but wasn't.
This isn't neccessary, except to line wallets.

Apparently Harry is going to have a nude scene in the final film? I guess they saw how much money EQUUS made and decided to enlarge, ahem, upon that.
Digitally.
