Harvey in Mulan

Am I the only person here that didn't know Harvey Fierstein was the voice of that short chubby guy in Mulan? My friend and I were just watching it on T.V. and he's like "That's Harvey!! I know it is!!" and sure enough there he was on the credits. Geesh, I gotta get up with this stuff.

Shan Poo? Harvey Fierstein? Really? With that low raspy voice I always thought that was Kathleen Turner.

re: Harvey in Mulan

LOL, Harvey is Yao in "Mulan," and he is great: "I'll get that arrow, pretty-boy. And I'll do it with my shirt on!" And B. D. Wong is Li Shang (the young captain). They're both in the video sequel, too, which is actually not too awful as Disney sequels go. (Shan-Poo - um, Shan Yu is the big Hun bad guy and is voiced by Miguel Ferrer.)

Oh man, I must be thinking of something else then. I knew Lachanze was because I said something to her about it after Dessa Rose. What disney movie was Carole Shelley in then?

edit: thanks!

re: Harvey in Mulan

Carole Shelley was also "Lady Kluck" (sp?), Maid Marian's lady in waiting, in Disney's "Robin Hood." (IIRC, Monica Evans (?) was Marian, and the two of them were the original Pigeon sisters in "The Odd Couple" - someone correct me if I'm mixed up here.)

Oh, and Practically The Entire Cast of "Beauty and the Beast" was made up of musical theatre veterans, including Jerry Orbach and Angela Lansbury.
