I just saw Heart in concert a few weeks ago. They f*ckin' rocked that joint.

And, it was a huge crowd filled with many teens and young adults.

The second I heard them playing Barracuda I thought there is no way Heart gave the republicans permission to play that song.....and if they did I was going to be very disappointed. I'm so glad they're taking a stand. This actually makes me want to buy their music. I have most of it, but in unusable formats such as tapes. Don't judge!!

And I agree with you Doodlenyc......amazing powerful voice.

Maybe you shouldn't call two women "cows" because it's offensive, tacky and sexist, in and of itself. Or is it a statement about the "small town mentality" the Republicans are touting as their "base"?

I'm assuming Barracuda refers to Palin. Did any of these dipsh*ts at the GOP actually listen to the lyrics? Or were these the same people who wanted "Born In The USA" to be Reagan's theme song?

Speaking of not checking anything for content, or actually reading anything...

Did you all see the "oops" at the GOP convention? When they showed Walter Reed Middle School (in North Hollywood) instead of Walter Reed Medical Center?

Somebody "Googled" wrong. And it was a huge GOP backdrop slide at the convention. And of course they won't admit that it was a mistake. (So... you actually meant to choose this random junior high in the L.A. area for your backdrop?)

...AND, just like Heart, they didn't get permission from this school to show the photo!

"Reed principal Donna Tobin released this statement: "It has been brought to the school’s attention that a picture of the front of our school, Walter Reed Middle School, was used as a backdrop at the Republican National Convention. Permission to use the front of our school for the Republican National Convention was not given by our school nor is the use of our school’s picture an endorsement of any political party or view.”

I love that last part, but if they did license the song, then the Wilsons have no legal recourse. They can still be "publicly pissed" about it, but they can't prevent them from playing it.
