Ok, so I have to write a pursuasive speech this week, and I need 3 MLA sources. My teacher said I could use the quote's of friends or random people, so I need your help!

My topic is "Why people should see Broadway", so I need anyone and everyone to write their best possible "how b-way changed my life" or " why everyone should see/love broadway" type thing. It can be short, or it can be long. Whatever.

Thanks!

Ummmm

Performers on Broadway are incredibly talented (most times) and can inspire other performers.

Broadway shows are extravagant (most times) and is a fine form of storytelling.

People love watching stories unfold, like in films. Broadway does just what films do only they sing and dance and are more accepting of different bodies and faces.

"It's a great feeling of power to be naked in front of people. We're happy to watch actual incredible graphic violence and gore, but as soon as somebody's naked it seems like the public goes a bit bananas about the whole thing."

Seeing live theater, especially on Broadway, is thrilling---the fact that you are sharing it with others, and that you are seeing a one-of-a-kind show (every live show is different!), heightens the experience.

I had the pleasure in 1991, I think, of seeing Phantom of the Opera in Toronto, original Canadian cast.

Now whether one likes or dislikes AL Webber doesn't matter.

What mattered was I was taken out of my own reality for the period of the time I was there and became part of the experience. Now I didn't know this had happened until it ended, and suddenly I was me again. Then I realized that I was so involved in the play that I totally became devoid of who I was.

This has never happened since.......maybe it was because that was my first major Broadway (Canadian) musical, .....I don't know......but I remember the feeling when I "came back"......and was in my seat........and I was not happy to be back.

Anything that can make you forget who you are, what your problems are, if only for a short time, is a wondrous thing!

It is ridiculous to set a detective story in New York City. New York City is itself a detective story... AGATHA CHRISTIE, Life magazine, May 14, 1956

You always remember your first broadway show. You can see the same show 8 times a week and every time it will be a bit different.

"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." Conan O'Brien
