Right now Im at a relatively small college where I am getting lots of stage time and experience. Do you think its worth it to stay here and keep getting more stage time and experience, or transferring to a bigger more expensive school where I will probably get little to no stage time due to politics and what not...? I guess what Im asking is what weighs more getting the experience and stage time, or maybe getting slightly better training and little stage time? Id like to hear from people who've worked professionally and know.. Any advice or help would be awesome! thank you!

Well, stage time and experience is part of theatre training in my opinion. As long as you feel you are learning everything you need.. then stay.. but there are larger schools that guarantee stage time... that doesn't mean a lead. but stage time is stage time.

Stage time is really irrelevant if you don't have the training behind you to support it. Stage time in school SHOULD just be a venue in which to experiment and play with the skills you are learning in the classroom. Once you get into the real world, no one will really care whether you played Romeo or Sword Carrier #1 in college, they'll care whether or not you are GOOD; that comes from training.

I understand that training is important.. I think it is VERY important. But also, being on stage is a PART of training. It helps you learn how to repeat a performance, how to work in an ensemble, and how to transfer your training in studio to the stage.
