Okay, first off - and let's just get this out of the way - Kerrie didn't ask me to post this.

A lot of you know Kerrie as WesternSky2 here on the BWW boards. She is kind-hearted, lovely inside and out, and, it so happens, talented as all heck.

Once again this year she is participating in AIDS Walk New York, which falls on May 15th, 2011. I thought it would be neat if we could help her reach (and even go beyond) her goal of $1500 for this year and also help a great cause in the process.

Now it so happens that (far as I can determine), the lowest amount anyone can donate is $25. I know times are tight for a lot of us, and if you're reading this and simply can't spare that much, no worries. Skip past this post, and don't feel one iota guilty. Money isn't the only way to help the world after all.

However, if you can give and would be cool with your donation going toward Kerrie's $1500 goal to fight AIDS (I know some here may be sponsoring other walkers and may not have the funds to sponsor more than one), then please go to this link:

AIDS Walk takes credit, debit, or PayPal.

I'll try and come back to bump this every week or so, up to the day of the Walk. (Unless others beat me to the bump.)

Thanks to all! (And Kerrie, don't kill me for posting this!)

Well, there seems to be a way around what you're saying about "if you can't afford to give $25, just skip this." A lot of people on this board are friends; what if people teamed up to put together one donation of $25? 5 people contributing $5 and putting it in as one donation, for example. Of course if donors are listed somewhere only one name would go in, but hopefully that's not the most important matter. It seems like a possibility to me, that doesn't say "So if you'd like to be a good person AND eat," that's impossible. Times are tough (and a lot of Kerrie's friends are probably still students), so you think outside the box, you don't give up.

In the past when I have done AIDS Walk, I used my Paypal account for anyone who wanted to donate under $25. I took any donations I received and when they reached $25, I put them in by hand. I put what I could in by credit card and turned the rest in the day of the walk. Yes, Paypal takes a little out, but it's better than asking people to give $25, if they can't.

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!
