Helloo everyone. I haven't posted here in a couple of weeks(high school*mumbles*) but I have a question. I met with a voice teacher last week who seemed more laid back and decent with vocal technique.

This week I met with a woman who I think is going to train me classically. She had me sing in head voice the entire time(something I never, ever do) and her music book said something about beginning soprano.

Now, my dilemma. I am looking for a teacher to help me with my vocal technique and to help me belt healthily without hurting my voice. The second woman seemed really against chest voice. Would it be productive for me, in the long run, to be trained classically(I think.. ehh) with a lot of head voice? Or should I try and find someone who can help me with chest voice so I don't hurt myself. Opinions..

What is Broadway? A street? Some say it's a street. Some say it is the best street in the world. Others think its terrible. That's the beauty of it, it's terribly beautiful. Some hate it and don't know why. Others love it and don't know why. That's what makes it so wonderful, it's a mystery.

I would think the most beneficial option would be someone who will work on you with both. It is very important to have the knowledge in both areas. There will be times that you will have to use your chest voice, and its imperative to do that correctly. However being classically trained offers an entirely different set of benefits. A really good teacher will understand how crutial it is for you to be trained in all areas of the voice.
