So I'm supposed to be helping my friend find an audition song for her, but I'm failing utterly. She's trying out for Pirates of Penzance and needs high soprano stuff. I was thinking older musicals, but if anyone has new stuff that would be great. I dont really care and I doubt she does either. Any help would be great, thanks!
I never saw the show, but lately I've been really liking "Being in Love" from the music man movie (original one, not the one with cheno). It's a really nice song to sing and it sits pretty high =)
If your friend lives in NJ and this's for a High School musical, PM me, lol. Our spring musical is that. Our director, however, gave out a packet with three songs, an alto, soprano, and tenor (I think) for the males and females (obv. different songs). If this isn't the case w. your friend, and their director doesn't want a song from the show, I suggest anything from an 'opera' type of show. If she has a high range try anything from Phantom of the Opera. I've never given a recomendation before, but I hope that helped.
