I love that movie, "A Christmas Story". I haven't met anyone whodoesn’t identify with at least one scene in that movie.
I watched it on T-day night and I bought it on DVD yesterday.
What memories does it bring back for you?

I saw the leg lamp on sale at Amazon.com. Were it not an exorborant amount of money, I may have bought it for a lark. Would have looked nice in our apartment.
I too watched it on Thanksgiving, or rather flipped back and forth between that and Shawshank Redemption on AMC, and then gave up on both to play Scrabble with my grandparents and uncle (I got 63 points on "head".... and yes, I left that one open for you, Namo).

Winner gets one of the gingerbread cookies I just baked....
"Isn't it wonderful? I'm going to jail!"
"Mother always taught me 'Never eat singing food.'"
"Gee, do they still make wooden Christmas trees?"
"Only one thing in the world could've dragged me away from the soft glow of electric sex gleaming in the window."
"I don't know what to say, except it's Christmas and we're all in misery."
"Sometimes angels rush in where fools fear to tread."
"The District Attorney's a Republican."
"Maybe Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas--perhaps--means a little bit more!"
"In some ways you're far superior to my cocker spaniel."
"Great bouncing icebergs!"
"A gentle smile often breeds a kick in the pants."
"You mustn't mind the tree monsters. Their bark is worse than their bite!"

Oy--I know some of them but not all.
"Isn't it wonderful? I'm going to jail!" It's a Wonderful Life
"Only one thing in the world could've dragged me away from the soft glow of electric sex gleaming in the window." A Christmas Story
"Great bouncing icebergs!" Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer
The rest, I'm either unsure or I know them but can't place where I heard them.
"In some ways you're far superior to my cocker spaniel." Guessing on this one--White Christmas?

You are indeed correct, on those, D (including White Christmas).
A Christmas Story was on TV Thanksgiving night.... I can't wait until it gets 24 hour a day coverage on Christmas Day.
"Mother always taught me 'Never eat singing food.'"
Is that from "A Muppet Christms Carol"? My favorite Christmas movie by the way
lol That and a Christmas Story.

'Tis indeed from a Muppet Christmas Carol.
I myself am more of a Bing Crosby/Fred Astaire fan, though every Christmas movie pales in comparison to seeing Trinity Rep (in Providence) do A Christmas Carol every year. This will be the first time in about 15 years that I haven't seen it in some way, shape or form. I'm feeling a bit of a void in my holiday season.

Have you ever seen "Christmas In Connecticut"? I love that movie even if it's in B&W.

"I don't know what to say, except it's Christmas and we're all in misery." - National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
Wife-"Grace? She passed away thoity years ago."
Husband-"The BLE-SS-ING!"
LOL I love that movie!
"Maybe Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas--perhaps--means a little bit more!" is from Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas. That and the one from A Christmas Story are the only ones I know. Maybe I need to brush up on my Christmas films...

I broke out the National Lampoons Christmas Vacation DVD last night and heard the line, "I don't know what to say, except it's Christmas and we're all in misery." last night.
The strange thing about some of the quotes is I can hear them being spoken in my head but I can't place WHERE I heard them or who said them. Like "You mustn't mind the tree monsters. Their bark is worse than their bite!" I know it's one the cartoon stories--I can hear the line being spoken but I can't quite put my finger on which story--I'm thinking Santa Clause Is Coming To Town but couldn't say 100%.

I think you're right. Where they come across the scary snow guy in the forrest who becomes friendly and they sing, "Put one foot in front of the other..." lol
