My current job...obscenely less than minimum wage to sit down and listen to a rabbi talk once a week.

I got to be an Elf!!!....it was the Manheim Steam Roller people, and they needed to hire a bunch of people to dress up as elves, toy soliders, gingerbread men and snowmen. It was at mandalay bay and we stood outside the stadium doors and danced around...got hit on by very drunk guys and it was fun! I got 100 bucks for it.

It sucked because there were 3 hours of auditions for...being...an...elf? hm.

BEST - singing background/leads for a record company. pretty good pay, free transportation and getting to sing all the time. and they gave me a nice bonus becuase they liked me.

ALSO BEST - a tiny theatre near me puts on a musical and a few plays every summer. you get paid $800 for 3 weeks work -- and they feed you every day.

ALSO BEST - singing odd-jobs. weddings, etc.

SORT OF OKAY - working as an intern teaching a musical theatre camp for 11-15 year olds. yeah...it sort of sucked but it was performing-related so it wasn't too too bad.

SORT OF OKAY - working at a local wood-fired pizza restaurant as a hostess/waitress. virtually no pay, but a pretty fun atmosphere and delicious free pasta, haha.

WORST - piano technician's assistant. i've been doing it for as long as i can remember, but i still hate it. i clean/fix ridiculously expensive pianos. it's tiny tiny detail work and i'm always afraid i'm going to ruin someone's steinway concert grand.

Best for me is jewelry design...as long as I meet deadlines I get paid, and I work when I want, where I want. Plus, I sell to some of my favorite boutiques so sometimes I get discounts, and I never need to buy jewelry to match an outfit.

Babysitting is an obvious one. Best because the kids I babysit just want me to leave them alone and I get paid LOADS.

I don't have a worst. Some people think my job working at horse stables sucks, but I enjoy it. Even the poop scooping. Don't mind it one bit. Pays decent too.

Well for about 1 year I worked with a professional photography studio, then I opened a studio of my own, so now I'm my own boss. Depending on business I make atleast $200/shoot. It's realyl funny because I acutally use a pro lab to print them and I am currently working on getting my business license as well as having my studio inspected by the state. Alot of ppl find it hard to believe that I run my own business but I do..and it rocks major ass! LOL! :p

I work at this nice little lunch restaurant called Serafina. I started out doing dishes, but now we just moved into a better building so I'll be doing more prep anmd customer service. I love the place and people I work with, plus my boss was Aunt Eller to my Curly in Oklahoma so I got to work around that schedule.

I worked at FYE (For Your Entertainment) for 9 months. I actually just had my last day this back Thursday. It was really nice. The people were awesome (minus the ugly big gay fat bear manager!) and I got to sell DVDs and CDs which I love!! Even though my paychecks just went back to the store because I bought so much, it was totrally worth it! My broadway cd collection is now an amazing one!!! I bought like all of them because I got 30% off all the cds and dvds. It was pretty amazing! :)

I actually liked working there alot, but the manager was giving me all this crap beacuse I was taking so much time off for my 7 college auditions! And I was like OMG, it is my future!! I HAVE to go for my dream! Dont get mad at me because you are just jealous and you are going to be working at FYE the rest of your life!! GRRRR!!! whateva.. so it was GOOD and BAD!

best...doing a play about the evils of 'alcoholism' that traveled around to local churches...it was fun..got paid 20 bucks a show.

worst...working in a warehouse...sweeping, moving things from one place to another...loading things on trucks...getting sweaty...but you know...it made me a stronger person...glad i did it.

I feed horses, and I used to clean stalls and paddocks before I hurt my arm. The cleaning was horrible, but the feeding, apart from being somewhat dangerous, is not too bad. It doesn't pay a lot, but it gives me enough to support my horse and collect cast recordings. I'll be looking for another job when the summer comes.

I teach cello to kids as well as teach an after school kids choir at a local elementary school. I get to interact with kids, teach them how to sing (well sorta, it is a once a week thing for about an hour a week for the choir), and get them interested in performing. It is a load of fun, but it doesnt pay that well.

it can be amazing when a job you think is the worst ends up leading to something incredible...you never know.

Worst: babysitting for 6 month-5 year olds at my Temple during the longer services. Oh joy

Best: I now work at the Boston Lyric Opera, it's so much fun to be inthat kind of environment!

re: High School Jobs: Best and Worst!

the worst job is being a Coldstone crew member, being the theatre geek i am i thought that singing and dancing for money would be fun, i've changed my mind. Everything is about upselling for bigger profits, and to be honest, it is sort of degrading to do "The Banana Solute" for $.16
