Somedays I long for the endless shilling of Erika Aamato.

Erika may be overenthusiastic but at least she knows how to read a room.

You can say that again about the room reading, Mr. Pal Joey. I love me some Erika Amato and am the proud purchaser of quite a bit of her merch. I've given some of it as gifts. Her music hit a nerve with me and the people I shared it with!!! I was happy to learn that her enthusiasm was backed up with real, true goods. I love exclamation points! And I love Erika! I hope to see her onstage someday. Love. Her.

I dunno, she lost me after her "Please vote to raise the rating of my movie on Netflix" thread, but I'm glad she has her fans.

All it takes is honesty. Obfuscation is offensive.

Now let's be fair. EVERYONE, and I do mean EVERYONE, has a sensitivity to something. There is not one person on this board who doesn't have at least ONE thing that throws them off the edge, even if it's only momentary.
And, again, to be fair, how gracefully did we accept criticism when we were, say, 23? I'm not excusing adolescent behavior in grown-ups, but even the most mature, refined and dispassionate among us has a bad day every now and then.
Self-aggrandizement can get nauseating -- even when the person has talent, I admit. But I do try to understand that some people have an emotional neediness I don't have, or at least, don't seek to satiate on a message board. (That's the "compassionate me," which I work very hard to nurture and maintain. The "impatient me" thinks, "Oh Christ, there she/he goes again" and even laughs at it, which is probably not something I should admit lest I be deemed cruel and condescending. But, hey, you take your chances when you bare you soul. I think I'm roughly 80% Compassionate and 20% Impatient. But who's counting?)

I'm so confused. My closeted gay dentist struck a nerve recently and it made me cry. I don't know WHAT you people are on about.

I wrote Erika off after she refused to sell me her hand towels.
What happened at Cmoore's American Idol audition?
My favorite self-shiller, and I mean this sincerely, is Sherman's Slave. No bones about it, he's just shilling and doing. No hidden agenda, no fake names, just Hey, I'm doing a show, come and see me! The fact that he is talented, too, doesn't hurt.

You are all totally ignoring me! Why are you doing this? Do you derive some sort of sick, sadistic thrill from acting like I'm not even here?
What did I do wrong? PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE tell me. Unless it's for a really good reason that I'm not going to like.

Once my nerve was removed by a dentist. When he left the room, my nurse looked over at the tray and said, "Oh there it is! Would you like to see your nerve?"
I didn't have the nerve to see the nerve!

Oh.
Instead I simply yelled, "NO! I don't want to see my nerve! Just leave it!"

As they often are, Taz. I was just wondering if the hand towel incident was the same time she was selling stuff to pay her car insurance.
