Now let's be fair. EVERYONE, and I do mean EVERYONE, has a sensitivity to something. There is not one person on this board who doesn't have at least ONE thing that throws them off the edge, even if it's only momentary.
And, again, to be fair, how gracefully did we accept criticism when we were, say, 23? I'm not
excusing adolescent behavior in grown-ups, but even the most mature, refined and dispassionate among us has a bad day every now and then.
Self-aggrandizement can get nauseating -- even when the person
has talent, I admit. But I do try to understand that some people have an emotional neediness I don't have, or at least, don't seek to satiate on a message board. (That's the "compassionate me," which I work very hard to nurture and maintain. The "impatient me" thinks, "Oh Christ, there she/he goes again" and even laughs at it, which is probably not something I should admit lest I be deemed cruel and condescending. But, hey, you take your chances when you bare you soul. I think I'm roughly 80% Compassionate and 20% Impatient. But who's counting?)
