I did a search but didn't see a thread. Does anyone else watch this show? I could never live like that.

Stock, I love ya but stop drinking...
The thread is the exact same name as yours and came up the first time I searched, darling.
Edit: And this was my post from that thread:
I haven't watched the show but I've seen an episode of 60 minutes about hoarders and other similar shows. I am not as bad as most of the people, but I am pretty bad. A lot of is has to do with anxiety and the need to control; both of which I have MAJOR problems with and have suffered with my whole life. I still continue to go to therapists and psychiatrists to help me cope.
Part of a hoarders problems are they feel they are attached to everything; they THINK they are attached and THINK that they NEED the stuff. Strange enough, with all the stuff the hoarders have, they WILL notice if something is taken (at least, I have).
One has to go through a series of questions which SHOULD NOT take a lot of thought. "Have I used this in the last year? If not, throw it. Can this be used in the near future? If no, throw. If yes, ask how? Is it necessary? Can you get another one if needed? If yes, throw away. Will my life be different in the immediate future if I no longer have this? If the answer is no, throw it. If yes, ask yourself how is it going to make a difference? Think about it realistically; give a clear and reasonable answer. Most answers, believe it or not, will not be reasonable which then leads to...throw it out.
TRUST ME! MUCH EASIER SAID THAN DONE!!!! I've tried to go through all of those questions many times and have cried as I have several times reached for something I felt I "NEEDED." I thought it may be useful in 20 years from now. Yes, after many fights with myself, I ended up throwing it out. It was extremely difficult and still is.
Hoarders or A&E
The search engine hardly ever works for me.
So zip it.

Ya gotta know how to use it
Maybe if you quit the bottles upon bottles every night.
Hoarders are like alcoholics. They can't stop.
Wow....lamest comparison ever. (But, it's actually true)
Yes, I need sleep.
I've actually only had 2 1/2 glasses of wine tonight.

Are you wasting the other 1/2 glass or are you cutting back?
I hear Henry wants some?
Or is the other 1/2 glass your midnight "snack?"

It seems to me that you are not going to share.
You do know that sharing is caring, don't you?
Would you like a glass? There's a half a bottle left?

No, I have my own, thank you for the offer.
Hey, if I had that glass, I'd only need to have one glass a night!
I've watched a few episodes, but it's definitely not a show I could watch every week. The format of the show really bothers me. They give the hoarder two days to fix decades' worth of psychological problems. I've yet to see one that was remotely successful. Usually it ends with one room being kinda cleared and the pop-up that says "They're continuing to work with therapists".
I'd prefer to see the show follow maybe 3-4 people each season, showing their progress over the course of few months than a whirlwind purge when the person is too overwhelmed to properly cope.
That's what adds the drama though...LOL
I know what you are saying. Last night they actually got both of the houses in pretty good shape. In the one case, CPS gave them a certain amount of time to get the house cleaned up so she could get her kids back.
But I agree. Getting the house clean is only a small part of the problem. If they don't get psychological help, it'll just look like that again.
