Hollywood Bowl Questions

so....since we're Hollywood Bowl virgins, can LA person give me some advice/answers?

Where should we park, can you bring a picnic like at Ravinia, is there food sold there....and what time to most people arrive?

Dame, are you going Saturday, anyone else from BWW going Saturday?

It's stacked parking, so prepare for it to take forever to leave. BETTER to do it Park/Ride at Hollywood/Highland, and other locations throughout Los Angeles. It's a shuttle service, and they're pretty good.

I'd bring a picnic with me, it's fun - but they also have food there, but I never buy it so I can't say how good it is.

I would arrive 1.5 hours before showtime.

re: Hollywood Bowl Questions

I would get to the Park/Ride 2 hours before. You want to take time once you're at the Bowl to get to your seats and have a nice leisurely dinner, etc...

re: Hollywood Bowl Questions

Elph,
I will p.m. you my seats tomorrow. Yes you can picnic. There is also a full food store as well as concessions inside the Bowl. But very expensive. If you are planning on picnicing and you have bench seats as opposed to a box.. then you want to be there when the gates open 2 /12 hours before curtain so you can run in and grab a table in one of the many picnicing areas inside the bowl. They go quickly.. so unless you are there when they open.. bring a blanket to picnic on the grass. Parking at the Bowl is stack. So be ready to spend some time at the end of the show waiting to get out. A lot of people take the shuttle buses. But I park in the lot on Cahuenga Blvd and find that the most I ever wait to get out is 20 minutes. Also.. if you have bench seats as opposed to box.. then you might want to rent one of the seat pads for 75 cents. Below is the link for the Bowl. It has all the parking and bus locations.

re: Hollywood Bowl Questions

We went to a concert when we were there last month - the shuttle service is excellent, as Shira said, and we bought our food there. The chef who owns Patina has two concession stands there, and the food was also excellent.
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

Elphie,
Stoners section is to the right behind section U. Pass the trail to the bathroom. You'll know when your there. I'm not sitting anywhere near there this time..but it is always a fun walk during intermission or before the show.

re: Hollywood Bowl Questions

Yes, I would highly recommend that you take the shuttle bus from anyone of the locations to get to the bowl. Parking at the bowl is a nightmare and you'd have to get there very early to find a space. I'll be there on Sunday night for "Les Miz." We always take the bus from the LA Zoo. It's very, very easy to get in and out of the bowl once the concert is over with.

Going to the bowl every summer for 3-4 events is a tradition, and always have box seats in the front Garden Section. We always order our dinner ahead of time via Patina and the food is fantastic, and the service is great. Their menu has a lot of choices........pasta, chicken, fish, steak, prime rib, etc. You pay for the entire experience.......to sit there and have a wonderful evening, is what it's all about.

I'll be back on Sunday of Labor Day weekend, seeing "The Big Picture: Film Scores of Warner Brothers."
