Picked up the "long-awaited" sequel to The Graduate. I must admit, I've eagerly anticipated it since I heard Charles Webb started writing.
But so far, it stinks. The Graduate had some kind of sardonic charm to it - the writing was snappy, witty, dry.
Here, he's just trying too hard. Ben and Elaine are home-schooling their children in the mid-70s in Westchester, and must get Mrs. Robinson, whom they haven't spoken to in years, on their side when the school board gives them a hard time.
Anyone else read it? Pick it up?
