Like PJ said - a major part of my young teenage yrs. I used to think that you could actually go into a tailor's shop and -pffft - down to UNCLE headquarters. Ilya, my dream boy (I was so jealous when his character had a love interest with Jill Ireland)....(he was in line in front of me about a yr. ago in a Food Emporium - extremely introverted..thank g-d no one bothered him)
And that theme music - the best EVER for a TV show!

I watched reruns as a kid--big crush on Illya. MeTV, which we just started getting in Canada, is currently airing it at some weird time... Similarly, The Wild Wild West strikes me now as surprisingly homoerotic. Or maybe I am just seeing what I wanna see.

Lyle was one of the first celebs (well maybe the second- after Bert Reynolds) to do A CENTERFOLD.
I liked Wild Wild West too but there was something so sexy about Illya and Robert Vaughn. I guess I need to tell the younger kids that the U.N.C.L.E guys were the height of male beauty at the time AND fashion plates. Everything on that show was the ultimate in modern design.

Hetero or Homo, they milked Conrad's sex appeal on WWW. Shirtless for no reason, and extremely tight pants. It was obvious Jim West was presented differently than most guys on TV.
His sex appeal antithesis was Dr. Smith on Lost In Space. As a friend said, "Even as a kid, you knew Dr. Smith didn't act like your dad."
