Good morning all.
We never resoved the 8 track question.
Any good plans for the weekend. We have my mother in law and my father in town. Should be fun.
Do you remember pop rocks candy? I recall that crackling sensation while on vacation with our cousins.
Happy Friday.
Good morning brdlwyr and all. Everybody off today, like me?
I had the extreme delight at spending last evening with IflitIfloat and her family at a student production of As the World Goes Round starring her talented daughter. Besides being beautiful, she's a real triple threat--beautiful voice, great dancer and a sparkle on stage that makes diamonds look dull.
Pop rocks! Back to my youth!
Let me run and get a pack and a coke and see if my stomach explodes.

Sammy - I must say again that your picture is precious. I am never seen As the World.... I love to see young rising stars. Good for your friend.
I am at the office until about 1:30. The kids are off for a week.
MEF - the large pop rocks would almost cut your mouth.
Good morning all !!! Listening to some Zydeco music and enjoying a cup of coffee. Hope everyone is doing well today.
Late start for me today. Decided to sleep in. Hi everyone.
It's a banner day today. Somms posted on a day off. I don't think that's ever happened before! Sounds like you had a great evening.
brdlwyr, I'll be meeting up with some friends tonight and one of them will most likely know the answer to the 8 track question. She might even still have a non working one laying around in her basement. I'll let you know if I find out anything.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi all...
The chat with the bf was good... talked a lot, will try to work things out, especially since we're 'sposed to be moving in together in a couple of months... will keep ya posted, thanks for your support.
This weekend: quiet night tonight, tomorrow - taking dogs to the dog park during the day, going to see Howard Crabtree's When Pigs Fly tomorrow night, Easter Sunday family stuff, and SO excited 'cause Monday is my friend's cabaret... she's totally awesome.
El, that's great news!
Saw Dirty Rotten Scoundrels today. Enjoyed it alot, but from everything I'd heard/read, I was expecting the 2nd coming. Next I go to All Shook Up next week. Looking forward to seeing Cheyenne.

Hi Guys!
Happy Easter!
Just checking on my favorite thread -I'm in Boston as we speak, and kind of yucky because some a$$ on New Jersey transit gave me a bout of bronchitis. Blech.
I saw Sweet Charity - 'nuff said. And Bruce Glikas was not nice to me.
So...I come to NYC on Monday! Yay! Yay! I don't know what I'm doing Monday night anymore - I was going to shoot "Lesbian Vampires" but Linda is covering it. Go Linda!
So anyhow, I hope everyone is doing well!
Shira
Morning all..Happy Easter !!!
El..glad to hear that you and the bf are gonna try and make it work.
Shira you better give me a call sweetie so we can hook up some night before you leave town.
Girly..sorry you didn't like the 2nd coming...I'm sure if Euan or Adam were in it you would've felt differently.
Good Morning and Happy Easter. Hope everyone is doing well today. Sorry I haven't been around much this past week. (Life is getting crazy here again!) Today it's dinner for Dave's family, so I'll be absent again for most of the day. Hugs and chocolate Easter bunnies for all!

Hi Shira, Boobs, and mom! Hope you all have an exciting Sunday planned!
Boobs, I liked it. It just wasn't the end all and the be all.

Hugs all!! Still cleaning, still cooking (Ihope I haven't forgotten anything else!)
Morning all...second pot of coffee is on..same old Sunday night can't sleep blues.
Watched the DVD of "Finding Neverland" over the weekend..one of the best films ever as far as I'm concerned.
Went to the movies to see "Miss Congeniality 2" which was cute...I think I enjoyed it more than I should've because of Lusia.
Great weekend... saw When Pigs Fly on Saturday, way fun. The rest was spent chilling at home. Seattle is windy, rainy, chilly... what you'd expect in Feb., not so much March-almost-April, but we take what we can. I won't be around much today... I actually have WORK, go figure.
Hope you all have a fun Monday.
Hi El.....I remember seeing "When Pigs Fly" off=broadway and thinking how damn hysterical it was. Glad you enjoyed the production you saw.
Have a fun day..working..I wish I was still home in bed.
Recently, I was diagnosed with A. A. A. D. D. - Age Activated
Attention Deficit Disorder. This is how it manifests:
I decide to wash my car. As I start toward the garage,
I notice that there is mail on the hall table.
I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.
I lay my car keys down on the table, put the junk mail in the
trash can under the table, and notice that the trash can is full.
So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out
the trash first.
But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mailbox when I
take out the trash anyway, I may as well pay the bills first.
I take my checkbook off the table, and see that there is only
one check left
My extra checks are in my desk in the study, so I go to my desk
where I find the can of Coke that I had been drinking.
I'm going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the
Coke aside so that I don't accidentally knock it over.
I see that the Coke is getting warm, and I decide I should put
it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.
As I head toward the kitchen with the coke a vase of flowers on
the counter catches my eye--they need to be watered.
I set the Coke down on the counter, and I discover my reading
glasses that I've been searching for all morning.
I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I'm going
to water the flowers.
I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill a container
with water and suddenly I spot the TV remote.
Someone left it on the kitchen table.
I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV, I will be
looking for the remote, but I won't remember that it's on
the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the den where
it belongs, but first I'll water the flowers.
I splash some water on the flowers, but most of it spills on
the floor.
So, I set the remote back down on the table, get some towels
and wipe up the spill.
Then I head down the hall trying to remember what I was
planning to do.
At the end of the day: the car isn't washed, the bills aren't
paid, there is a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter, the
flowers aren't watered, there is still only one check in my
checkbook, I can't find the remote, I can't find my glasses,
and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.
Then when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm
really baffled because I know I was busy all day long, and I'm
really tired.
I realize this is a serious problem, and I'll try to get some
help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail.
Do me a favor, will you? Forward this message to everyone you
know, because I don't remember to whom it has been sent.
Don't laugh -- if this isn't you yet, your day is coming!
Hi, all. Hope you're having a better day than I am.
brdlwyr, 8 tracks didn't rewind. My friends weren't 100% sure about it either, so I just did a search and found this.
"8-track tapes originated in America in the 1960s. They were primarily designed for playing pre-recorded music in cars and trucks, but home and portable players were made, too. There were even some recordable 8-track decks. 8-track was a huge success in the U.S. until the now familiar audio cassette took over in the later half of the '70s. Outside the American "car culture", 8-tracks were less popular. They were made and sold in Britain for several years. In most other countries they never appeared at all.
The advantage of 8-track was simplicity. Just pop the tape into the player and it plays continuously - no turning it over. You can change the song just by pressing a button. The disadvantage was that you cannot rewind an 8-track tape to hear a song again. The tape is in an endless loop inside the cartridge. You just have to wait until the same section of tape comes past again. (Some decks allowed fast forward, but this risks breaking the tape.)"

Speaking of tapes and growing old, we bought a VCR yesterday. We did not have one for years. The kids were dying laughing looking at baby videos. That makes you feel old. We also skimmed the 2004 Tony Awards. They are Wicked fans and had not seen the tape. (my mother taped it)
quick hi... busy at work again today... what's up with that?
