In the year 2525, if man is still alive
If woman can survive, they may find
In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lie
Everything you think, do and say
Is in the pill you took today
In the year 4545
You ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing to chew
Nobody's gonna look at you
In the year 5555
Your arms hangin' limp at your sides
Your legs got nothin' to do
Some machine's doin' that for you
In the year 6565
You won't need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube
In the year 7510
If God's a-coming, He oughta make it by then
Maybe He'll look around Himself and say
"Guess it's time for the judgement day"
In the year 8510
God is gonna shake His mighty head
He'll either say "I'm pleased where man has been"
Or tear it down, and start again
In the year 9595
I'm kinda wonderin' if man is gonna be alive
He's taken everything this old earth can give
And he ain't put back nothing
Now it's been ten thousand years, Man has cried a billion tears
For what, he never knew, Now man's reign is through
But through eternal night, the twinkling of starlight
So very far away, maybe it's only yesterday

Oh, boy...
"Everybody Wang Chung tonight? Get ready for a blast from the past with this talent show for faded pop stars and bands living in oblivion. Based on the U.K. smash of the same name, the three-episode series gathers up one-hit wonders for an American Idolish competition in which the vieweres vote for their favorite act. Among the "whatever happened to" artists hoping to revive their stalled careers are mall rat Tiffany, achy-breaky-hearted Billy Ray Cyrus, the Knack, Sophie B. Hawkins, Flock of Seagulls, Tommy Tutone and Wang Chung."

Hello everyone -- I'll join the party.
I don't know who is getting tickets for Camelot, but I do know that I will be photographing it that evening.
Where do we get tix? Are seats assigned? Should we get the tix all at the same time to make sure we sit together? Will there be alcohol involved?
I hear ya! I should always have it with me during rehearsals...

Hey now, hey now, HEY NOW! We're not bashing Lerner & Loewe in here, are we? I'd hate to throw a hissy fit so late in the afternoon

Hehe - well THAT I'll get behind! Well, I'd get behind Josh Duhamel, too - but I might have to put down the drink for that
Try staging a show with a scattered director, an absent music director... and about 1/3 less people than you need. The drinks would come in handy...
As for the evening... definitely martinis.

SOOOOO - what's the situation with the 13th/14th of August? I got ahold of our friends, and we ARE going to be in town that weekend - although Robert will have a show on the 13th. We could still very easily do a Disney day that day - no matter HOW hot it will be! The 14th seems a bit tricky with Camelot that evening - maybe we should just make that a 'second event' for those who want to participate?
*ahem*
I SO asked this a few pages ago and was quite rudely ignored...
*pouts*
*gets over it*
How hot will it really be in August? I don't deal too well with heat.
I guess I'm planning on flying in on the 12th... Disney on the 13th... slumber party and morning after at your place, DG? (unless Robert would object), Camelot Sun. night... fly back on Monday. Take Tuesday off from work.

Sorry DD, I missed the question before. Yes, it will be pretty warm - most would say hot. And the truth is, it's the summer, so ALL the families will be there. It's pretty much the heighth of the season for them.
The plan of spending the night here the 13th would be fine. Then we could enjoy the day here and head into town for dinner and the show.
*jumps with joy*
I'll deal with the heat. I lived in DC for 8 years... and that was humid heat. We'll have a blast...
RE: evening of the 13th... your guests will be gone? (just checking)
Is Boobs still coming? I get to meet DAME as well. Excellent.

Actually, Beav - this was my idea as an alternative to the Seattle thing. And yes, DD, our guests will be gone at that point.
Just so everyone knows, I just checked Ticketmaster for Camelot, and the regular seats are all sold out - there's still apparently bench seats available, but the view won't be the best (kind of far away.) That would be OK with us, however. I think it's pretty much about the music.
13th is a Saturday...
I'll be coming off working on a production of it, so for me it's mostly for the company. I'm getting so psyched about meeting you all that if we were going to the dump I'd be happy. Ok... maybe not THAT happy. Ok, I'd be a little sad. Ok, fine, I'd be pissed. But I digress...
btw, beav... it's was "buzz cut and boots" night at the Cuff on Saturday night, and totally thought of you.

Beav - there'll be a test later Do you think you could escape on Sunday? It's probably a 45 minute flight from Vegas to Ontario. We could pick you up, bring you back to our place for cocktails and sun by the pool, over to town for dinner and the Bowl, and then send you back on your merry way - or Monday morning, if you want to.
And WHERE did Shira go?!?!? She's developed this habit of showing up and then disappearing!
I was actually wearing boots...
Lots of very handsome men...

Well, I've got to run. Let's leave some idea of what we can commit to.
Since I live here, I'm up for whatever! Just need to know to get tickets.
I will go with the flow. I am as easy as the moon is deep. My only plan so far is to buy plane tickets... currently leaving Sea. on Aug. 12 and leaving LA Aug. 15... whatever happens in between there is up to the gods...
I'm sure you get lucky more often than you care to admit...
HIIIIIII!
Sorry, I was having an art tour at the California Club this evening. I like DD's plan very much.
Disney on the 13th, slumber party, Camelot on the 14th...
But does this mean no Beaver? Boobs, what's your take?

Well, look who dropped back by
Beav may actually come down just for Sunday's festivities. Haven't heard from the Boobster yet.
Sorry for my disappearance. I had a life (but I'll try to keep it from happening again).
I hope Beav and Boobs can come by -- that would be amazing.

Life - amazing how that can get in the way! Don't know about Boobs, but Beav is possible. And Tico is pretty definite. Apparently, there's a couple of others that would like to go to the Happiest Place on Earth, as well.
Yay! Disney Day (this just made my evening spectacular)
