How DID We Survive?

Posted: 3/1/05 at 1:02pmPeople here freak out when it rains too - traffic grinds to a halt. You can't get anywhere except by subway.

Thanks Beaver!
I need to figure out exactly when I can come up though - it'll definitely be during a workweek, I'm sure.

I'm thinking April 12th-ish. Southwest flights are cheap. Now I just have to see if I can afford a hotel. I stayed in a hostel last time, but that was with a friend in a private - I'm squeamish about sharing a room with 6-7 other people.
How far is Berkeley from SF? Maybe I could visit my cousin...

Having met both of you, I will vouch for each - and add that you would probably have a lot of fun

Beav - after our REALLY unfortunate experience with AIDA in January, it might be awhile before I can get him back in a theatre for opera. HOWEVER, just coming up for some fun and frolic is NOT out of the question! And I believe YOU might head south to Palm Springs at some point, in which case we could easily drive over for dinner and drinks. We'll be over there the weekend after nthis one for Bernie in concert - VERY excited about that

Beav - it's very bold of you to post that you're hiring people up your wazoo

Posted: 3/1/05 at 3:32pmRelocating has been on my mind as of late... I get this thing that I have to move around every so often... not sure where I'd want to go, though.

Hmmmm - I'm not sure an event like that would be advisable - or even legal

Posted: 3/1/05 at 3:43pmSF... maybe. Too expensive... then again, all the cities I want to live in are... DC, NYC... Amsterdam, London, Madrid...

Posted: 3/1/05 at 3:50pmI "almost" moved to LA last year in March. Was offered a job near Ontario... wasn't in the right place (emotionally) to relocate then. I was actually born in LA - Manhattan Beach - and have family there, so it's always an option.

I could have so much fun in a room with all these men...
DGrant, enjoy the BP concert! I wish I could go,but it's just too much of a schlep. So you'll have to give up the details.
Rath, dearie, I second the "YET"

Posted: 3/1/05 at 5:52pmJust be aware that the Inland Empire is the ULTIMATE generic American suburbia - and very conservative (they even vote more conservatively than Orange County!). We drive a LOT to do what we want to do socially, but at least we can have a house and yard and some privacy.
