So they want a bunch of videos from people who aren't registered to vote, worrying about money they haven't made that they might be taxed on someday?
"I'm Joe the Plumber"
I just think it's ridiculous that he's been interviewed on so many stations and has gone on so many talk shows to say that he doesn't like all this media attention. Puhleeze!
i find it interesting that he is the story and not obama's answer.
attack and demonize the questioner so people don't talk about the answer is a great strategy. gonna make for some fun press conferences.

Yeah. Obama and Axelrod learned that technique from Rove and Cheney.
Rove and Cheney turned it into an art form after they committed an illegal act against the CIA and Valerie Plame.
You're in for eight years of what Bush and Cheney did, only with much more subtlety. Rove may have been a Machiavelli, but Axelrod is a Lucretia Borgia.
All I know is this guy's crazy if he doesn't change the name of his business to "Joe the Plumber."
That's a no-brainer.

I'm fine with Obama's answer.
"First off, you would get a 50% tax credit so you'd get a tax cut for your healthcare costs….. if your revenue is above 250 – then from 250 down, your taxes are going to stay the same. It is true that from 250 up – from 250 – 300 or so, so for that additional amount, you’d go from 36 to 39%, which is what it was under Bill Clinton. And the reason why we’re doing that is because 95% of small businesses make less than 250. So what I want to do is give them a tax cut. I want to give all these folks who are bus drivers, teachers, auto workers who make less, I want to give them a tax cut. And so what we’re doing is, we are saying that folks who make more than 250 that that marginal amount above 250 – they’re gonna be taxed at a 39 instead of a 36% rate.”
But what do I know? I don't live in the real America.

don't forget the last bit, "i think when you spread the wealth around it's good for everybody."
from each according to his abilities to each according to his needs.
i'm sure most people here are fine with that. whether that message can win a general election or not is why we're talking about joe and not that.

We're also talking about mythical lobster.
i'm not talking about lobsters.

So if the unlicensed "Plumber" ended up making $300,000 with this business he is not buying.. he would only be taxed an extra 3% on the $50,000.
No wonder he is mad! Especially when according the GAO, the bulk of U.S. Corporations pay no taxes.

Sorry, that's another thread, which is about fascism.
This is about socialism. Jon Stewart just showed a clip of McCain from Hardball in 2000. Apparantly McCain was for socialism before he was against it.
"I think it's to some degree that wealthy people can afford to pay more... Here's what I - I - really believe, that when you are, reach a certain level of comfort, there's nothing wrong with paying somewhat more."
and yet corporate tax receipts have tripled since 2003. i wonder where this phantom money could be coming from?
and he has stated that comfort level is $5m a year, phyllys. which i think is a fine place for a higher tax rate (which there already is).

clearly there's a huge group of snidely whiplash looking white guys selling minority babies on the open market and donating the proceeds to the gov't.

OMG, is that where the money I paid for LaKeisha went?????
I'm trying to figure this out.
Could an increase in profits have something to do with the increase in taxes paid?
Could it be that the 75% of the largest corporations (not to mention the not-so-large corporations) who are paying taxes are carrying the weight of the 25% of the largest corporations who aren't?
How do the 25% get away with with it?
How does this make the Unlicensed Plumber pay more than 3% above the $250k he isn't earning from the business he isn't buying?
