My ride back to my hometown tomorrow can no longer pick me up. It's too late for absentee voting.
What can I do?
Bus? Train?

I think you're screwed.
Are you a college student?
If so, I would ask why didn't you register to vote absentee to begin with.

Because absentee ballots are more iffy, especially if the machines at home are old-fashioned types with no chads or computer problems to worry about.
Go for mass transit. Not matter where your college is, there should at least be an accessible train station.
where are you Capn? and where do you need to go??

They just showed on the news here that each party is providing rides for people to get to the polls. It may be worth it for you to call your political party and see if they can help.
Thanks! I found out someone else is driving back to Raleigh, so I will be able to make it to Durham after all. That was close.
Missed absentee voting deadline because it got lost in the mail (parents got it at home, sent it to me). Didn't know you could register with absentee.
Ah well. At least my vote will go in.

I'll be in late to work tomorrow because I'm still registered to vote in another part of the town I live in. Meanwhile, my mother's polling place is right down the street from her. Ah well, at least I'll get to vote

Also, Rodney, just because you make the deadlines to vote via absentee ballot does not mean that you will receive the ballot in time. Florida's absentee ballots were mailed the first week of October and many voters have still not received them. The post office is supposedly to blame in this case. However, many of South Florida's young voters who are away in college may not be able to vote.
