re: How do you know when it's time...

Thanks again everyone, I appreciate all the responses and suggestions!
Goldie is very special to me and my family, and we only want to do what's best for her.

Liotte, my thoughts are with you as you go through this difficult time. I hope that you can find an answer that brings you peace, and soon. *hugs*

This post is making me cry...

Liotte, I wish you all the best. As so many others have said, if she is suffering or she is in pain, then it is time. But I do believe, as others have suggested, that she will let you know when she wants to go. All the best and hang in there!

Liotte, I am so sorry that you are having to deal with this. My father bought my mother a puppy the day after I was born. (Not the best decision on his part, but her dog had been stolen a few days earlier.) When I was a senior in high school he was in a similar situation to Goldie. He was a wonderful dog and brought us so much joy. One day he just couldn't get up on his own anymore. My father and the vet ended up making the decision. It was hard on everyone, but it helped to know that he was no longer in pain.

Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!
