Posted: 1/17/05 at 11:09amwrite to Broadway stars? My brother was recently diagnosed with juvenile diabetes, and my friends and I are getting together and working on a charity show benefitting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), and as part of it we are hoping to raffle off autographed pictures and the such, also donating the profits to JDRF. However, we don't know where to request the stuff, so if anyone knows how or has done this in the past, please lemmeno!

Posted: 1/17/05 at 11:11amIf a performer is currently in a show you can write to them care of the theater where the show is performed. Otherwise you can dig around and find out who represents them (their agent) and go through them.

Posted: 1/17/05 at 11:22amThanks! One more question... does anyone know of people who are likely to sign something if you ask? I would really rather not write to a bunch of people who never reply.

TheaterGeek91, most Broadway casts do it just for fans so I'm sure that if you mentioned it was for charity you'd get plenty back

One of my closest friends has Juvenile Diabetes, and I think that this is a great thing that you're doing!

Posted: 1/17/05 at 12:21pmI organized a couple of AIDS benefits in the early 90's, and I actually found books that had the contacts for celebrities (agents and such). We sent out over 300 letters and received about 50 items back... mostly photos, but we also received a pair of pumps autographed by Liz Taylor and a signed "Murcphy Brown" script (what are they called for sitcoms?)... by the entire cast, among others.

Posted: 1/17/05 at 1:02pmI wrote Gavin Creel a letter about a week and a half ago and got something back on Thursday. Wonderful guy. He would surely sign something for you.
