One has to be on one's toes to dance with a vampire without getting bit.
I would suggest the International Tango, as you can toss your head away from your partner in a finely photographic pose...

Now I remember why I shouldn't have quit dance lessons all those years ago.
But aren't vampires possessed of a certain amount of magnetic power? I should think that, once you've begun the dance, he would swoop in and feast himself upon your arteries. I, personally, would suggest wearing some type of neck guard, although such a device would in all likelihood not lend itself to the aesthetic pleasure one would receive from the sight of the dance. But safety first, as my mother tells me each time I go out to frolic with darkness.

I think, witchie, that one of those dog collars with spikes would take away from the aesthetic.
I suggest a slinky red silken Spanish wrap, tied about the waist, that one can whip off and use as a matador's cape to trick the vampire should he improptu a lunge...
You people are weird.

Oh, nomdeplume! Your ingenuity once again astounds me. Yes, a red wrap would be the perfect, and one could fight off the Lords of Darkness as Escamillo fighting the bull to win his Carmen's affections.
However, this begs the question: does one want to be safe from such a creature? In typical vampiric lore, it seems that each of their conquests comes willingly, even eagerly. Perhaps a better form of defense would be to stop up one's ears from his alluring vibrations as Odysseus' crew passing the Sirens.
I think I'm way behind on this skill...the only thing I can think to save me now is to call up Mandy and take personal lessons.

Oddexoticcreature, do you speak of Mandy Patinkin? I didn't know he possessed any special matador skills, although he seemed to be quite proficient at fighting dragons in The Secret Garden. Perhaps he could frighten the vampires into submission with his rapid-fire delivery and freakish tenor register.
