How to convert Video Formats for my ipod videos?

I am trying to convert my videos to Mp4 format...I downloaded videora and thought i converted it but I only see the video in asv format? I am not sure what I'm doing...help anyone?

I'm on a MAC and find iSquint to work great!

I'm on a PC not a MAC, so that program will not work on my computer. Any other suggestions anyone?
