How to put your performances on YouTube?

I see all of these performances and everything ripped from DVDs and put on youtube. How do I take scenes from my DVD and have them in a format that will upload on Facebook or YouTube? Any help would be appreciated.

You need to rip the video from your DVD. There is lots of DVD ripping software available. I use this one: http://www.aoamedia.com/dvd_ripper.htm

but there are others and you can probably find them for free.
