And after the first year pay only $20 a year!
This nifty little gadget is ingenious. You plug it into a USB port on your computer and then plug any regular corded (or cordless) phone into it and voila! Unlimited local and long distance calls.

Sounds too good to be true... I went to the webpage, but none of the news clips/reviews they have up will load for me.
It sounds great. I pay $40/month for my landline. But I agree that it sounds too good to be true. I'm curious to read some reviews about it from real people.

Wow... That article made it sound extremely tempting to me...

Me too. It sounds like you can't keep your old number, though, which is kind of unfortunate, but with the amount of money that I'd save, I'd be willing to get a new number.

Foster: I was thinking the same thing. It would be worth getting a new number... And I already pay to have unlimited internet access every month anyway.
LePetiteFromage: A cordless phone still has a base with a standard jack that you plug in to the other side of the "magic jack." It would work just fine. (As the article said, it would work with anything from a princess to the most advanced new phones out there.)

In case anyone is still interested I bought mine through Amazon and it arrived late last week. It took all of 2 minutes to set up and right away I was able to make calls. The sound quality is just as good as a landline. People on the receiving end could not perceive any difference. Good buy!
