re: Hugh Dancy

I saw him in evening last night. I like him, but hated the movie.
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

re: Hugh Dancy

Yeah, his character wore out his welcome bigtime in EVENING. Ugh. Always drunk and wet-eyed. I wanted to break a champagne bottle over his head. Singularly unappealing character, who deserved the telling off he got. I'll say no more for those who haven't seen it, but Hugh really had an unplayable role.

re: Hugh Dancy

I think he did an admirable job with his character in Evening. It coulnd't have been easy to do--especially keeping an American accent.

And I did envy him just a wee bit in the scene outside after the wedding with him, Claire Danes and the fabulous Patrick Wilson... (no more, for spoilers sake).
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?

Robbed of his well-deserved Tony for Journey's End--but at least there are many pics of him with the Tony for Best Revival.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

re: Hugh Dancy

wow...really? I thought he was hands down the best part of Evening. His acting (like always) was spot on and I felt quite a bit for him.
