>CBS also has given a pilot order to the musical, Viva Laughlin! from Bob Lowry and Hugh Jackman.
It's based on the BBC miniseries Viva Blackpool!, and described by The Hollywood Reporter as a rollicking musical about Ripley Holden and his family as they attempt to run a casino in Laughlin, Nevada. Jackman is not only executive producing, he's also set to guest star in the pilot and in other episodes.
Sounds interesting
Is every episode supposed to be a musical?

All I could think of when I read this news was the old 1990 TV show "Cop Rock" by Stephen Bochco, about cops that broke into song. It got murdered (no pun intended) by the critics and lasted 11 episodes.
Apparently "Viva Blackpool", a UK miniseries on which this is based, was a big hit in the UK and has aired here on BBC America. I asked a friend in the UK about it, and he said that it's probably a love it or hate it thing, part murder mystery/musical/soap and the characters broke into song, which is how they expressed their feelings.
Really not sure if this is going to work here.
