Hugh Jackman in musical TV show

Does anyone know anything about Hugh Jackman starring and singing in a tv show that takes place in las Vegas? I saw some type of promo and hoped it was a joke. It looked very cheesy- he is more tlented than that.

Meh. They only played that promo about a zillion times during the Tonys. It didn't spike my interest at all, it just annoyed me.

The show is called "Viva Laughlin". Jackman is the Executive Producer of the show, and will appear in SOME episodes.

In the show, the characters will sing along with popular recordings.

according to something I read today, it is expected to be the single worst show next season, closely followed by the caveman series

Based on the clip I saw, it is hard to imagine a show could be worse. He must have been drunk when he signed on for this. Hopefully it will fall through and he won't be humiliated or embarassed on a large scale.

Being Executive Producer indicates that he has been involved since the earliest phase of development - in other words, the whole show may have been HIS IDEA.

It's the American version of the BBC series, Viva Blackpool. I watched the pilot of Viva Blackpool and didn't care for it, though I must admit, the promos for Viva Laughlin look better.
