OK......I get it now. Since we never have humidity here, and it's been so long since I've lived anywhere that does, I don't really get it when you all complain about humidity and tell me our heat "is a dry heat".
I get it today......we are at 88 with a dew point of 73 degrees and 62% humidity, UNHEARD OF for here......I just took the garbage out, and thought I was I was in soup.....I can't see the San Jacinto Mountains, because we appear to have a thick layer of fog, but we don't get fog here.........while we are only expected to get to 107 today, the humidity is expected to be in the 70's........ARRGH.......

Ugh, I hate the humidity. I don't even bother styling my hair anymore.
ONLY expected to get to 107? ONLY? That's like saying I ONLY have to have major surgery.
pop, we've been seeing highs of 115-120 here.......107 is like a cool front, EXCEPT when they're this humidity......
hmmm, right now in NYC
temp 81
dewpoint 66
humidity 60
we're "more" humid right now than NYC......that is just so wrong!

Stay in and grab some mint from the garden and have a Mojito!
Happy now, Elphaba? I HOPE YOU ARE!!!!
It's ilke that most every day of the suemmer here.
It's a lot less oppressive today in NYC than it was yesterday. It says a lot when you can't wait to get onto the subway b/c it has A/C.
The city has been sweltering lately. Today, I'm just going to camp out in my air-conditioned apartment.
It says even more when you've been on the subway for 10 minutes and you're STILL sweating.

Elphaba, if you want real humidity, move to the South.
Sorry the weather's so effed up though.
I HATE this humidity! This AZ boy will take 118 over this crap anyday!
Oh the joys of riding the subway on a sweltering day. The urine wafting through the air. The rats on the grimy tracks. Crowds of people pushing to get onto the train. Bacteria-infested subway poles. Delays, delays, delays.
I went on two job interviews yesterday and for the first time in my life didn't wear makeup to them - figured it was better than showing up with a melted face from the subway platform. Was offered both. I guess I've been giving makeup too much credit all these years...
captain I've lived in Lousyana, oops, I mean Lousiana, Georgia, and FL.........no thinks I'll stay out West

Just checking.
It seems like the East is following you though.
Congrats, Rath. Are you accepting either offer?
I have an interview tomorrow. Seems like everyone I know is going through a job transition.
And now back to the humidity...
I accepted one. The other one doesn't start till the end of August, so I accepted it on the basis that I won't have something else yet at that point. We'll see what happens.
What, never felt 100% humidity? Go live in the southeast. :P
congrats Rath

In Detroit the other day is was 92 with 87% humidity, and the afternoon rain didn't cool things down at all. Fortunately today the humidity's about 66% with a predicted high around 90.
Gotta hate when the rain doesn't cool things down at all.
ugh, I remember Detroit humidity......I'd get up, shower....walkto work (downtown)......took me maybe 20 minutes, and I'd be drenched by the time I got there.....
