I Got Lorraine's Birthday Card

Lorraine was my mother's maternity ward room mate when I was born 56 years ago yesterday at Brooklyn Jewish Hospital (now Interfaith)
No one wanted her as a room mate as she is black

they asked about dozen people until they got to my parents who didn't care and said yes.
Lorraine and my parents became friends and we met a few times.
Every Jewish holiday she would send cards to my folks and every year I got a birthday card.
When my Mom died in 99, she came to the funeral and the story ws told of their friendship

And yesterday as always for 56 years I received a birthday card from her bemusing how much time has gone by and asking for photos
Just figured I'd share this with all that's going on ..
