I hate spiders too. I'm afraid of them, but not to the point of running away screaming. I just have the overwhelming urge to KILL, KILL, KILL and find one of my spikiest high heels and getta whackin'!!!! Ever since I was little and saw the movie "Arachniphobia" I've been terrified of spiders.
The same goes for the movie "IT" based on Stephen King's novel. Tim Curry scared the S**T out of me as Pennywise the Clown. I can't stand CLOWNS and I haven't gone to the circus in 15 years.

I don't even want to THINK about a 5 ft spider. I LOATHE spiders entirely. I hate walking through a web in the dark and being so paranoid the spider is crawling somewhere on your body. I hate killing a momma spider and hundreds of babies go crazy running everywhere, and I really hate that KathyFriffinLovesYou just pointed out to me they are always watching you! I never thought about that before....YIKES!

I quite like spiders myself. Also, squid live in water. They don't need eyelids. O_o
Personally, I don't really like people. I'm not that big on monkeys either, because they remind me a lot of people, but I'd take a monkey over a person any day. Pretty much every other animal I'm fine with. I've even managed to find affection within myself for giant snails.

Why Weez!? That was just plain uncalled for!!!
And Chrysanthemum- Be afraid. It'll keep you on your toes when one comes FLYING out of the sky, lands on you with their face shoved up against yours and you have to deal with hundreds of little spears grabbling hold of you and cutting out little circles of your flesh. You get to watch it DIE. Their eye will be bigger than your head and they NEVER stop watching you. You get to see them loose their sparkle. And that's when you know. A giant flying squid just died on you.

But they're hilarious! Have you ever seen such dismayed-looking deep-sea fish in your LIFE?

Well, the one on the right definitely seems dismayed. But the one on the left appears to be merely caught off-guard.

Why, Mrs. Pingleton! There you are!
I love spiders, too... it's a character flaw of mine. But I'm not so fond of certain dogs.
Such as... oh, I don't know, that one for instance.

WTF? How could you not love Sam? He's about the second cutest Chinese crested I ever saw. He couldn't help looking like a zombie dog, he was all elderly and infirm.

I'm sure he's perfectly sweet, he just looks a little bit too much like Strom Thurmond resurrected for my taste.

*Psychiatrist holds up Schmergs picture* Now what do you see?
I pause...
"A red X".
"Yes but look deeper. What else is there to be discovered?"
"Software".
"But what does is this? Deep down inside?"
"... A waste of red pixels?"

Really? I see Rupert Grint with a spider on his head. It's wonderful to see other people's interpretations of these things... it explains so much about the human psyche.
