can anyone remember a song from a guy in the 80's that was a one-hit wonder kind of song. he was never that popular, so it was not a huge hit but it had the lyric, "I met you on a Tuesday..."
it was a dance song and i think the guy was gay and maybe even did a porn movie. anyone know?
when i googled it i got a website for Tricky? but i can't make sense of it. here is the link though. i met you on a tuesday or maybe it was Wednesday thats the rest of the lyrics i could find

All you have to do is Google '"I met you on a Tuesday" lyrics'.
i did google it but i couldn't find the right one that i'm looking for...
sadly, you've all failed me. you should be ashamed of yourselves. no lunch for any of you!

Remember any other lyrics from the song, anything close even?
unfortunately...no.
brainstorm
"i haven't stopped dancin' yet since we met on our first date"
is the main refrain in the song. i don't know if i am confusing two songs but i think the guy i'm thinking of remade the "pat & mick" song "i haven't stopped dancin' yet" which is also a remake.
does that help? in the song i'm thinking of the guy changed the pronouns from feminine to male. so, yeah, i'm guessing he is gay.
that's one person who covered the song as did pat & mick. i think the song i'm thinking of "samples" that lyric in it...
c'mon kids. it is a late 80s, early 90s song that was sung by a "porn star-ish" guy - that's right up your alley.
Robb, it's not this one, is it?

Title: Love You Till Tuesday
Just look through your window, look who sits outside
Little me is waiting, standing through the night
When you walk out through your door i'll wave my flag and shout
Ohh, beautiful baby
My burning desire started on sunday
Give me your heart and i'll love you till tuesday
Da da da dum
Da da da dum
Da da da dum
Da da da dum
Who's that hiding in the apple tree, clinging to a branch
Don't be afraid it's only me, hoping for a little romance
If you lie beneath my shade, i'll keep you nice and cool
Ohh, beautiful baby
I was very lonely till i met you on sunday
My passion's never-ending and i'll love you till tuesday

Don't be afraid of the man in the moon, because it's only me
I shall always watch you until my love runs dry
Ohh, beautiful baby
My heart's a flame, i'll love you till tuesday
My head's in a whirl and i'll love you till tuesday
Love, love, love, love you till tuesday
Love, love, love, love you till tuesday

Well, i might stretch it till wednesday
nope! definitely not david bowie. the guy was not a real popular singer and had basically this one song or maybe one other. maybe porn star is too harsh, i think he may have been a dancer/stripper?
LOL - I thought it was a long shot and that maybe you were just wrong about who sang it.
i know it's a short, easy name like jeff or maybe the last name is donovan? damn, that might be it! but what's the first name? rick?
ugh, and i'm at work so i cannot even search on ares...
Given the man you're describing, it makes me think of the song I Was A Male Stripper In A Go-Go Bar, but that's not the answer you're looking for.
Was it a Rick Astley song???
i finally found it!
it's "too many broken hearts" by jason donovan.
TOO MANY BROKEN HEARTS - 11/03/1989
2 weeks at #1 - 13 weeks on chart
Last night you talked about leaving
I said I can’t let you go
It’s not just emotional feeling
I need you body and soul
You give me one good reason to leave me
I’ll give you ten good reasons to stay
You’re the only one I believe in
I’ll be hurt, I’ll be hurt
If you walk away
Too many broken hearts in the world
There’s too many dreams can be broken in two
Too many broken hearts in the world
So I won’t give up the fight for you
The world is full of lonely people
Who never held on to love
Last night I tried to reach you
But somehow it wasn’t enough
So I said can’t you wait a bit longer
I'll give you all that a lover should give
It ain’t my pride but my love that is stronger
I’ll be hurt, I’ll be hurt
If you walk away
Too many broken hearts in the world
There’s too many dreams can be broken in two
Too many broken hearts in the world
So I won’t give up the fight for you
Too many broken hearts in the world
There’s too many dreams can be broken in two
Too many broken hearts in the world
So I won’t give up the fight for you
You give me one good reason to leave me
I’ll give you ten good reasons to stay
You’re the only one I believe in
I’ll be hurt, I’ll be hurt
If you walk away
Too many broken hearts in the world
There’s too many dreams
Can be broken in two
Too many broken hearts in the world
So I won’t give up the fight for you
Too many broken hearts in the world
There’s too many dreams can be broken in two
Too many broken hearts in the world
So I won’t give up the fight for you
RobbO, he's SO not gay. He sued a magazine and he won for claiming he was, so watch out
.
Ok, Robb, now where in that song do you see the line "I met you on a Tuesday"? :)
But thanks to you, I've had this song stuck in my head for 2 days.
I met this girl on Monday
Took her for a drink on Tuesday
We were making love by Wednesday
And on Thursday
And Friday and Saturday
We chilled on Sunday
That is by Craig David and its called 7 days.
hey pcb! well, since he propositioned my ex, i thought he might be gay - should i say "experimental" or "curious" ?
shameless, i think he samples the song in too many broken hearts. i tried downloading it (i mean buying it) this morning but it was taking forever and had to leave for work before listening to it.
i may have confused two songs, but that remains to be seen until i can actually hear it.
now i remember. my boyfriend at the time used to make me mix tapes and he put that song by jason donovan on a cassette (i'll explain what a cassette is later to all you kiddies) and ran it right into the pat & mick song "i haven't stopped dancin' yet."
since i had never heard either song before, i always thought of it as one long song. it's the second song that has the "met you on a tuesday" lyric.
color me embarrassed.
