I Went To My Friend's Memorial Service..

And there was nobody there. My friend Lillian died down in Florida a couple of weeks ago. Jill the friend who told me about it gave me the name and address of the funeral home and the time and told me "See you Wednesday."

I drove over there and there were four strange people hugging each other and the names on the board weren't hers. I asked the funeral guy "Is there a service for my friend Lillian?" "No Lillian, Sorry," he replied.

" I may be sending you another customer. I said.
Just sent Jill an e-mail. Got to hear this reply (There's a play here somewheres)

First, I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend.
Second, did the guy at the funeral home try to help you, ie call local funeral homes?

At first Jill had mentioned another funeral home but doubled check her voice mail and confirmed that it was the first. Since the other one was only a few blocks away, I drove over there and the place was closed and the man working there said that there was no service.

The bond that I had with Lillian was that her mother and my mother died in the same hospital, the same week due to botched care at the hospital seven years ago. We were friends before hand but we ran into each other there and went through some crap together.

It was two in a week for me. I saw my friend Jennifer at the local Mecca and she said.
"Do you remember my friend Susan that used to hang out here?"
"Sure" I said (I had hit on her) "She's really nice."
"She died," Jennifer said ( Some two pack a day thing).
and after I heard about Lillian, I was worried about hearing about someone else since things usually happen in threes but there was no more bad news. Thankfully.

Just heard from Jill. Its next week, She had my old email address and could not find my phone number. Mystery solved.

I'm glad you got that figured out, Wexy.

My grandfather's funeral was a day before my mom's family night.
Same funeral home. They're also buried in the same cemetery.

That was one crazy week.
