I have been ill for two weeks with a diabetic foot infection and a bladder infection. My mother just had her 75th birthday and complained to me about the gifts she got from my brother. My niece just had a birthday and I tried to get a hold of her for three days with no luck. I had a bad fall this morning in my apartment and the paramedics had to be called because I couldn't move because of my infected foot and I may have fractured a rib. But at least they were young and handsome. My visiting nurse who was suppposed to change the dressing on my foot didnt show up because she was busy with paperwork. I just cut up a whole watermelon into chunks and dropped the entire bowl on the floor. Is there anything else that can go wrong?
*hugs*
I DO hope you feel better soon, Yenta, and that your foot heals up, and that you DIDN'T break a rib.
You know, I remember a thread a while ago..."What you can't leave home without", and your reply was "a sense of humour".
Life gets us down sometimes, but I know that you will get through this rough time for the better.
we love you Yenta!!!!!
and hey, if anything, just keep picturing the paramedics... that'll give you a smile

GCY - keep up your spirits. (See my broken rib thread a few pages back!)

Yenta, all I can say is find a way to make some lemonade. Things will get better and what is bitter will become sweet again.

Well my podiatrist cracked me up today. His name is Meshuginah Larry and he wasnted to know since I had both a bladder infection and a foot infection, where had I been sticking my feet lately.
Just as long as you don't come down with a sinus infection or a cold sore . . .
Awww...Yenta. That sucks. Maybe put down Rabboi Telushkin's book, as good as it is, and pick up Rabbi Kushner's "When Bad Things Happen to Good People"
Feel better Yenta!

Things could be worse for you Yenta. You could wake up in the morning and find out you've turned into Corine.
please post photos of the good looking docs
Yenta, I hope that you feel better soon. Sexy paramedics are always nice though.

Smile, Yenta. The cute puppy wants you to feel better!

By the way DollyPop, waking up and finding out that I am Corine really would be that bad. It's waking up and finding Aunt Arline standing over me! That would be absolutley dreadful.

I have had a "bad day" for the past 20 years
I have an undiagnosed neuro problem that even my wife, previously in denial , has noticed. It comes & goes but for 20 years my muscles have been detiorating. It has started up again. I feel like Jeff Goldblum in The Fly - he knows something is going on but has no idea what
I am going to a new neuro guy 8/14 & maybe he can finally find the answer. If not, it ain't gonna be pretty gang. I feel sorry for my wife.At times, I wish I simply do not get up in the morning . I would even take growth hormones or steroids if I knew where to get them & damn the consequences.
Next time you think you got it bad, remember this & you will realize someone has it much worse than you
Maybe I should go to Lourdes if all else fails

If you go to Lourdes, make sure you go when I'm there. I'll give you a good dunking. A REALLY good dunking!!
Yenta, feel better soon. I thought of you often this trip, with the visits to the various visits to Jewish areas...
