So I've mentioned about a thousand times on this board that I'm auditioning for schools for Vocal performance. And I sent a prescreen to Eastman, and I found out today that I got an audition.
HOWEVER...they scheduled me on the same date as my state's District Chorus competition, which I've never made before, and I got an all state chorus recommendation this year.
So...I already emailed to try and reschedule, but if they don't let me...WHICH DO I CHOOSE?!?
But I think, if they don't, you'll regret not auditioning for this school more than missing the competition. I know I'm regretting not making room to audition for NYU. I would definitely go with Eastman.
District Chorus is your present, but the possibility of going to Eastman is your future. It's consistently rated as one of the top five music schools in the country. I think it speaks for itself.
Also, it happens to be down the street from one of Ben Folds' favorite coffee places - Java's.
And if you can stand the winters, Rochester's a great city. (This is coming from a soon-to-be University of Rochester alum.)
