Gerald Ford....James Brown.....and now Saddam Hussein.
The strangest trio of names that you never would think would link together.

I think you are right, Craig. The official Death In Three's Rule Book definitely states in chapter 4 section 12 that execution may not be counted as one of the three.

Posted: 12/30/06 at 2:01pmNamo, I was using the New Unabridged 2007 Edition. I got it for Christmas and can't put it down. The section on the Terri Schiavo case is interesting in that people tried to put her in a group of three (with Audrey Hepburn and Thurgood Marshall) in 1993 when she was declared brain dead, and then tried to include her in the triumvirate with Johnny Cochran and Pope John Paul II when the tubes were pulled in 2005. The ruling was that a person can only die once and so she was grouped with the Pope and Cochran because it seemed fitting that she would go with a person from the Law's side and the Lord's side. Fascinating debate.

Posted: 12/30/06 at 2:28pmI know, right? You would think that Marshall would outweigh Cochran in the legal side, but although Audrey played a Nun, the Pope really takes the lead here. So it is with the Pope and Cochran that Terri will be grouped.

Posted: 12/30/06 at 3:04pmI know the book went through several edits after Jonestown when families insisted that their relations were members of a group of three. The rule hadn't been challenged since Cain asked g-d to consider Abel the first of three.
