Okay, so I just got cast as the Wicked Witch of the West( more fondly refered to as Elphaba or Fabala) in my schools production of the Wizard of Oz, and not the lame movie version this one is actually quite good and all three of my songs rock. the problem is GREEN, I would really love to know if anyone knows hoto get ahold of the same type of make up Idina used, can anybody help me? I have already done my face hands and ears in green cake make up once and for like 12 shows that will not be fun

If having green makeup on your hands is too difficult to deal with, do what the Witch in my production did - use green (liquid! not paste!) food coloring on your hands. It doesn't stain costumes and smear like makeup does, and it will wash off with some good scrubbing with normal hand soap.
Try testing a food-color spot on your hand at a practice and see how it works for you and how quickly it washes off, since brands may be different and I don't know what brand food color she used.

what they use for elphaba in wicked is called "chromacake" by MAC cosmetics...the shade it's in is called "landscape green"
they only sell this at PRO stores though...not just any MAC store...there are very few PRO stores in the world, but they have one in NYC if you're near there...if not, i believe you can order it off of the website... macpro.com
hope that helped =)
and congrats!

The Make-Up Center on West 55th Street between 6th and 7th in Manhattan is a good place to start.
If you are not in NYC, call them up.

I wouldn't use grease paint, grease paint gives you a constantly wet look that blueman wants. You want something that's going to blend into your skin more.
I would recommend doing what Wicked does; They use MAC Cosmetic's Chrome Cake in Landscape Green. Add a lot of water to it, apply with a large brush, add some water proof powder, let it dry (it dries pretty quickly) and then you can apply other make up on top of it -- use Purple Haze eye shadow for some good highlighting effects and some pigment in golden olive to give it a more of a human look.
For most of these MAC products, you'll probably have to call and get them on special order since they're usually reserved for professional designers.
