PBelieve it or not, I care about you crazy lot. I don't post here as much as I would like to. Recently I've had to move back up to Maine from Massachusetts and the relationship I had with my significant other changed drastically, to put it lightly.

I started dating someone else earlier this month, just going out here and there. It hasn't really progressed into anything serious. But it's going well. We went out on Sunday to go ice skating, neither of us are that good. The rink had to get everyone off the ice so they could clean/resurface it. As I headed back to the exit with my date one of my legs gave way. I slipped and landed so that one leg went backwards and the other jutted out. The second I fell I realized the one that went back hadn't survived the fall the way the other had. Fast forward to medics coming out to the ice and my date standing there with them. He felt bad, but I assured him that I could have fallen anywhere.

I was taken to the hospital where they told me I had fractured part of my tibia and my ankle (which wasn't a surprise because I figured I broke something when I had fallen). My date came with me to the hospital and stayed up until the last minute, so I didn't have to be there by myself. I joked and said I hope this whole ordeal wasn't going to be a dealbreaker but he said he still wanted to see me, preferably on two feet! My parents came down the next day when I had surgery and I had visitors for the next couple of days that I was there.

My parents had called my job and they are going to work something out with me in the next few weeks. They've been more than understanding, which has kind of relieved some of the fears I had concerning employment. I've also contacted a quilt shop because they need help with quilt restorations and need people to work from home. So I figure that'd be ideal as currently I'm going to be in a cast for a few weeks.

I'm glad nothing too serious outside of a fractured ankle happened. I had asked the emt in the ambulance if they had many cases where people had fallen and broken their legs/ankles. Come to find out they had more cases with people falling and hitting their heads/head injuries. So I'm pretty happy to be on the other side.

Thanks for checking in! I'm sorry about your ankle - that's terrible! Glad it was nothing more serious though. Feel better soon, and check in more often!
