my cat. I saved her when she was a kitten. he rmother abandoned her and I had to bottle feed her for liek 3 weeks. She was the sweetest little himilayian (sp) cat ever, but my allergies got worse and I have started developing asthma and I found out I was severly allergic to her. A lady just came and picked her up and I am miserable. I feel like such a horrible person for just giving her up like that.

I'm sorry, but don't feel guilty! You took her in and saved her!!! But that does sound like a big loss, I'm sorry!

I'm so so sorry... I really am.
You're not a horrible person for giving her away, you're a good owner for making sure she went to a nice home, instead of just throwing her out.
She knows you love her.

When I went to hand her to her new owner she kept swiping her paws out toward me and meowing. It broke my heart.

I'm sorry; I know how difficult it is to have to give up animals because of allergies. I still hate myself for having to do it.

I can relate. Had a cat once for an entire year. Raised it from a kitten. Developed asthma so bad that one early morning I found myself literally crawling into an emergency room on my hands and knees gasping for air. The cat had to go. Found him a good home, but it still broke my heart. Don't hate yourself. You took the time to find her a loving home. Allow yourself time to grieve. But know that you did the right thing for both you and your pet.

I think I may have to give up my other cat. I have had cats all my life, but they have all been short haired until Lilo (the one I gave away last night) so I attributed all my allergy problems to her, well Sheba, my other cat got into bed with me last night and I started sneezing and wheezing. WTF? I have had that cat for years and never a problem. I hate this so bad. Does anyone live near KY that wants a beautiful and sweet tortoise-shell colored cat. If I were at home I would post a picture of her.

kel...at least you found her a home. Too many people just let a cat loose somewhere which is the cruelist thing.
I owned a pair of Himalayans years ago in San Diego...they are the sweetest cats

Oh man, I'm sorry to here that Kel. Don't feel bad, at least you saved the little kitten. I hope you're other cat finds a good home.
