...I really need an audition song for Sound of Music. I am a tenor- high baritone. Any suggestions would be MUCH Appreciated. I am looking for a musical theater song from the last 10 years.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO SUGGEST BEFOREHAND. I know this is a common thread but...

KRISTEN CHENOWETH To show my gratitude, I'll offer you this pointy black hat, which is just like the one Original Wicked Witch Margaret Hamilton wore in the movie! IDINA MENZEL What a great idea! How about throughout the play, you continue to offer me things like a black cloak, or a black cape, or a broom to make me look more and more like Margaret Hamilton did! These attempts at humor will be painfully predictable from a mile away! AUDIENCE collectively groans.

...which role would you like to play?

Also, because it sometimes does depend on your voice, so websites with a bunch of sound clips or something of that nature would be awesome. THANKS A BUNCH!

Well the auditioners have heard it a dozen times probably, but it's a safe bet "On the Street Where You Live". Even though it's not from something from the last ten years it's a song that sort of fits if you're looking to play Rolfe and it's likely that the song would fit your voice and is a lovely song.

Umm...Well if you were auditioning for a more comedic musical "What Do I Need With Love?" would be good although it's more tenor. "Giants in the Sky" from Into The Woods

I know the sheet music can be bought online and the song is called "Only Heaven Knows" from the musical by the same title. It's an Australian musical but it's a great song and it's relatively short.
