So, I found what looks like a Tiffany Somerset Heart Ring on my schools campus, turned it in and no one claimed it after a month so I get to keep it.
And I know that a lot of people on these boards have lots of random knowledge, SO...
Does anyone know how to tell if it's real? I'm pretty sure it is, it has the stamp, but I was kind of wondering if anyone might know where the stamp is on the real ring, or how I could find out?
Google has not gotten me far...
I bought an Atlas ring at Tiffany 10 years ago and the Tiffany name was inside the band.
Unfortunately I took the ring off when I went to wash my hands at a restaurant and I left it behind (never to be seen again). I was bummed.
I've only ever had breakfast there, sorry.

I agree with Dottie. I have a Tiffany gold ring and in the band is stamped "Tiffany & Co".

They have a terrific Denver Omelette. Comes with hashed browns and it is only $650.00. (It is an extra $75.00 if you want to sub a bagel.) Delish!!!!!!
Sorry I don't know the answer to your question, though.

Thanks, Sueleen, now I'm craving sangria.
Do you know how to cook sangria? I always burn mine.
Since 90% of Tiffany jewelry is Tiphony, I would guess no. It could be, though.
I think if it doesn't have the Tiffany & Co. stamp, it's not Tiffany?

Who cares? If you like it, wear it. It's not like you paid for it.

Why not get it appraised?
perhaps it was stolen....if no one claimed ityou could be the key to cracking an international jewelry ring of crime!......

Any Tiffany store should be able to authenticate it.

If this were truly off-topic, it would be another Billy Elliott thread.
JoeKV, I don't like it and I want to pawn it because I am a poor student :)
There is a signature on it, but I know counterfeit ones have it too. Mine says T&Co. and the 925 right behind the heart. I feel like there's a good chance its real because its a wealthy community.
I know it was kind of popular too, so I was thinking someone might happen to have it and know...
Why don't you call a Tiffany's store and ask them what the stamp would say, and where it would be?
You don't like it? I think it's pretty......if it's real you could probably make more money selling it on e-bay than pawning it though.
Yeah, it's kind of unfortunate that I don't, but its just really not my style!
And I just emailed them.
Thanks so much, everyone!!!!!!!
Good luck!
I don't know what the stamp on that ring would be because it's not smooth, but if it's stamped, then it's probaly real.
Take it to a store and ask them to look at it.

I'd go to a pawnshop- they will know if it's real or not.
A pawn shop will lie to you, say it's not real, and offer you tree fiddy for it.

FYI a pawn shop will not care that it's Tiffany and Company - authentic or not. They pay you based on the silver (weight) and the condition of the ring. I couldnt imagine you getting more than 50 or 75 bucks for it at a pawn shop - which is a fraction of what that ring goes for.
As for where it should be stamped, there should be a tiny silver circle soldered inside the band that has the stamp on it, seeming as the band isn't solid.
Any way you can take a picture of it? Im pretty good with the T&Co. jewelry.

Check the picture on the link I posted earlier. Research the Tiffany site for appropriate stamps and hallmarks. The locations and types of hallmarks should not vary; if they do, there are plenty of sites that will detail these for you (altho if yours is not stamped 925, you can pretty much end your search; it's a fake). If you're still in doubt, take it to the store. They'll tell you if they think it's the real McCoy.
