On my Mother's side I'm related to Hetty Greene, the Witch of Wall Street, in the Guinness book as the cheapest person ever. She was the wealthiest woman in the world, but amputated her son's leg at home on the kitche table because a doctor wanted too much. She was a noted Wall Street financier, but refused to rent office space, working on the floor of the bank where she kept her money. She ate nothing but gruel, only heating it when she could do it for free over a lamp in her bank for her lunch. She rarely bathed and had only one dress. She apparently smelled horribly but was so wealthy and powerful that people wouldnt' complain.

And no, I didn't inherit a dime. She gave most of her fortune to various "Causes" and what was left to her son was spent in a matter of years, as he rebelled by living in absolute luxury.

She died of a "fit" brought on by a vicious argument over the nutritional value of skim milk.

My second cousin (by marriage) is Joe Cioffi, the meteorologist on WB11 (Channel 11) in New York. He's got an ego the size of the Grand Canyon.

Joe Cioffi is not a kith I would kill for. However Tex obviously did his share of killing for Capt Obvious' family!

To change the subject,

My cousin married a man and had a baby. She then divorced the man and married his son and had a baby, so the babies are brothers and the one is an uncle and the other a nephew.

My grandfathers brother was Fulgencio Batista, the Dictator of Cuba before Castro.

We don't talk about him much

Not something to be proud of, that's for sure.

It's not like Hitler's relatives bragged either.

My grandfather's sister (Blanca) was married to Augusto Sandino, the Nicaraguan revolutionary. They hid at my grandparent's house when they were being chased by the army.

TD - isn't Gloria Estefan related to him too? Are you related to her then?
