I'm sick of Disney on Ice

and all these other ice box musicals. They are ruining a lovely art form.

re: I'm sick of Disney on Ice

I took my kids to Toy Story on Ice many years ago and this year I took one of them to All Shook Up - that is progress!

re: I'm sick of Disney on Ice

The only things I wanna see on ice are a frappucino, Jameson's Irish Whiskey, or beloved poster Rathnait.

They're nice entertainment, Namo.

Not Disney, but I saw ANASTASIA ON ICE back in 1998 and it was QUITE good. As close as we'll get to seeing a stage production of ANASTASIA. It was beautiful!
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

There was also a BROADWAY ON ICE production touring this year, but I think they cancelled the rest of their cities.

It looked OK, ice dancing to live Broadway showtunes.

"Frapps are loaded with sugar and fat."

So's Namo.
"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."

re: I'm sick of Disney on Ice

Not if you order light frapps. I'd like to see FRIDAY THE 13TH - ON ICE.

By the way, MyName - I spit my Coke Zero out, which is timely since there is a thread dedicated to that.

ConvinceMe2 is dead. Long live BrendanStryker!

If you don't like them....

Don't go

And stop whining

re: I'm sick of Disney on Ice

I'm not whining. I'm just mentioning that ice box musicals are ruining the perfectly masculine sport of figure skating.

(And Capn, please, seriously. When you feel like you're driving straight into your very own StereotypeVille, hit the brakes!)

Masculine?

What 'Ice Shows' have you been watching?

Glad you liked that, CM2!

Well executed humor needs no explanation, hon.

Well, yeah, frankly.

And you're traipsing dangerously close to the classic "Oh yeah?" response.

Just a quick thread jack for a quick question...

Is CapnHook gay yet?
PEACE.

re: I'm sick of Disney on Ice

I think the question is Is CapnHook OUT yet? And the answer is no. The answer to your question, Sueleen, is still yes.

Nope, still locked in my closet, hanging out with the characters from MONSTERS, INC.

You allowed yourself to see something rated PG? Did it give you nightmares?

Thenardier, just give up. What you're trying to do is, I'm sure in your tweenage mind, all noble n split, but really, it's just not working.

And after the two of you revealed such incredible political acumen over the last two days, well, you deserve it all and more!

Kisses to the most astute political analysts on the scene today!

And as a straight boy, bwha, hahahahahahaHA!

Okay, sorry, can I take that again? I can get through it without laughing. Okay? Thanks.

As a straight boy, I'm sure CapnHook isn't feeling so good about himself that a girl is fighting his battles for him. It's sexist, but that's how they are.
