I'm very concerned about the lack of Libertarians of color

"Ayn" Rand Paul could make all the sense in the world, with simple and effective policies to make the world freer from pesky regulation and more profitable for everybody who works hard and makes but doesn't take, but how far can Libertarians get when it is mostly a fantasy of white guys with aspirations of wealth?

I am concerned Libertarianism is doomed if people of color remain outside the dream.

In my experience, being white isn't the current Libertarian identity's only dominating feature. They're also mostly Middle-Class and Straight.

Not exclusively, but mostly.

I'm not, of course, implying that being Young, White, Straight, Male, and Middle-Class in America in 2013 makes it easy to call Personal Responsibility the Right Way to Live or anything.

LOL. Growl, perhaps that's it. I was once a self-described Libertarian, but had an evolution of sorts and just consider myself a Centrist now. I wonder if that makes Namo's skin crawl...

Growl, I simply realized that I could not see issues as "right" or "left" but also that Libertarianism is simply not feasible in the 21st century. I tend to straddle the fence on many issues as it's about that gray area for me. In my mind, that makes me a Centrist (I am a registered Independent).

ETA: I am about the issues and the specifics of those issues. Not about what either party thinks or supports. On some issues, I lean to the right and on others, I lean to the left. Updated On: 11/14/13 at 11:42 AM
