Honey, we're getting 18 inches of snow between now and Sunday. I'd not even count on your plane landing.

My expectation is that it won't be as bad as forecast. It seems that whenever they forecast a severe snow storm, it doesn't materialize, and vice versa. Then again, I might've been living in the NW too long where they can never get the weather right except to say that there's a chance of showers during the day.

The past couple of years, we have had some major huge storms, DD. I used to be as skeptical as you - and I'm from New England! - but now I tend more toward believing the worst.

Even with the gloves and scarf, you will be cold! Don't forget a hat, long underwear, a big coat, and maybe even hand warmers!

I think it would be suicide to go to the beach here at the moment.

Elph, what time are you scheduled to land? Forecast I heard a few minutes ago, said it's not expected to start until 3ish, maybe a bit later.

Rath, it's fun to walk the beach in a snowstorm! I love the way the beach looks covered in snow.

bdway, shortly before 8PM....although Steve told me it's supposed to start then, but not get bad until later in the night....I hope.

Liotte, long underwear? You do realize I live in the desert.....right? (and, lol...I actually have a one piece red longjohns underwear, lol......from a contest long ago.......I won!)

bdway, they're saying "blizzard conditions." I don't really think you'd want to be walking anywhere, never mind the beach!

Once upon a time, whenever there was a blizzard or snow of any kind, that's exactly where I could be found. Out walking about with the pooch. Of course, I didn't live in a rural area, so there was no chance of getting disoriented and lost, etc. In my advancing years, with my newfound "wisdom", I can now be found watching the storms through my living room windows, curled up on my couch with my blankie. re: I'm, going from 80 degrees to
