I have job interviews (for theatre, directing/artistic) coming up and because I have been losing weight, a lot of my clothes are starting to become too big on me.
I have a budget of $100 to buy a new kick-ass outfit but have no clue where to look. Every time I go out, I can never find anything (and perhaps that is because I live in North Carolina, yuck!). PLEASE help a gay out!
I'm SICK of the classic button-down shirt with jacket and jeans. While I want to look professional, I also want it to look artsy. I like layers. I'm not afraid of color, though I do love black. I'd love to be able to wear this not only for job interviews, but at party/social gathering events, too.
Thanks in advance!!

Go to a discount store - Marshall's or Filene's. Get the best pair of black pants they have. Then, buy the best colored dress shirt you can find and a tie that compliments it. If you aren't afraid of color, go for it- bright blue, with a yellow tie always gets me compliments.
Each time you are going to wear your outfit, get it laundered and pressed at a local dry cleaner. Make sure you look CRISP!
Go black, a nice pair of black slacks (not jeans) a black sweater and a black jacket. Simple clean and very New York Artsy look.

It's about making a lasting impression. Be unforgettable. Utilikilts are not only fashionable, but practical as well.
Snafu, I was going to suggest a sweater as well.
Or try a charcoal gray sweater instead of black.
