since the other thread was deleted for some unknown reason, here is the sequel thread where those with family and work/school issues can complain. Ok, here is mine. I went to work today (Chick-Fil-A) and was put in the Kitchen to make sandwiches and there is a radio back there and it was turned to some news program. I heard Wubya's speech 500 times in just 2 hours. I heard the Disk Jockey tear liberals to pieces. I had the owner of Chick-Fil-A call my name and then say, with the biggest grin on his face, "DJ, I am so sorry your guy lost." I wanted to throw something sharp at him but decided against that. I had people in class this morning say Kerry and his supporters are whiners and need to accept that the best man has won. Bush won, there is nothing I can do about it but DO NOT gloat in my face about it or I will have to turn Psycho on someone. I mean, I was PISSED today at work all day long. All these people came in to Chick-Fil-A saying "Yes, Bush won. I am so glad that jerk of a liberal didn't win." Grrrrrr
We need to remember what hubris can do.

Oh, Spider, I'm sorry. I heard similar things today, people are just so nasty about it. Yes, it is our future, but so are the people that we tear down because of politics. You don't have to agree to get along.
My art teacher... grrr. I wanted to wring his neck today. I was lucky enough to get out of history for a practice ACT and so I was spared a more gloating from my teacher there.

If they think being called liberal is some kind of insult, let 'em stew in their ignorance.
the guy on the radio said something like "I don't understand why so many people are liberals. Those people need to dig deep into their hearts and realize what is right and what is wrong." I almost screamed right there in the Kitchen. So, what he is saying is, if you have an opinion about something that goes against the "norm" than it is wrong and we should be ashamed of it? Also, he was talking about liberal famous people and how they need to stop complaining or leave the country which will make everyone happy. Now, that really did make me scream. I am so glad we live in a FREE country where people have FREE SPEECH and have the FREEDOM to complain if they want to, but yet people say those people need to leave the country. Grrrrr, again.
I'm glad I live in NJ. People were talking about it, but we're mainly liberal. The conservatives at our school are very knowledgable about the issues (well, most of them anyway), and can debate intelligently. Sorry you had a rough day, Spider.

In my opinion, the conservatives are the ones infringing upon our rights this time around- abortion laws, banning marriage based on a religion that not everyone follows.
So, am I the only one that had problems today?

Chik-fil-a... I could go for some Chik-fil-a right about now.
I like the food there, even though I eat it every single day. It gets old after awhile, you know.

im sorry spider that things were so bad for you. im so glad i live in cali where the majority of us are "liberals" but those that did vote for bush gloated majorly...

Nope.
I got the same old crap about gay marriage it either 'doesn't affect me so I don't want it' or it 'is just wrong'. And then there's the people who whine about Kerry flip-flopping... better to be right half the time than none, in my opinion. There's the war and how he didn't stand behind it, general gloating, ect, ect.
Someone said the exact same thing to me today, insomniak (about the flip flopping). I turned right to her and said, "Oh, and Bush didn't? Let's see.......he said we wouldn't go to war unless it was the last resort. Was it the last resort? NOPE." I also said, "Bin Laden attacked this country on 9/11, not Suddam Hussein. We should have used all of our efforts to go after him." And the same girl went, "but he is evil." And I said, "I agree, he is evil, but he is not the one we should have gone to war with just yet. We should have taken care of those that attacked us and then set our eyes on Suddam and got our allies to come up with a plan instead of just charging on in there."

Do we attack everyone who's evil? What are these people thinking? Do they have the slightest idea how much wars cost?
Spider, it's both a blessing and a curse that I go to a liberal college, came from a liberal family, went to a mostly liberal high school, and lived in a pretty liberal town. It's nice not to have to fight to hang on to my values every single day, but I think it makes me lose perspective sometimes.

DAMMIT! There are no Chik-fil-a's in Chicago.
One more reason for me to move out of the People's Republic of America.
on a bad note...I go the same kinds of remarks today...I nver truly realized just how many of my friends are either conservatives or republicans. Most of them decided to gloat and shove it in my face, which made me very P.O. and then there is my friend Mo. He was one of the gloaters...then tonight online:
Mo: n i said if i had truly had to vote in this election
Mo: id vote for the 3rd party
THEN WHY THE H*LL ARE YOU SOOOOO HAPPY BUSH WON!?!?
People don't make sense.
On a better note...They're Building a Chik-fil-A closer to my house than the other one is!!! (the new one will be about 10 minutes...the old one was 20)
DJ- I got the same kind of crap from my school.
